Gaza 2010 = Sarajevo 1914?

It is ridiculous that the world seems to be standing around watching as this shapes up. To think of a parallel, the Iranians sending an aid ship to Gaza is the equivalent of the Russians sending an “aid ship” to Cuba in October of 1962.

Iran has sworn to “wipe Israel off of the map”. Israel has sworn to defend herself, and that includes the blockade of Gaza.

With Israel standing alone and surrounded by her Muslim enemies, and the rest of the world playing the part of two of three monkeys - seeing and hearing no evil in the intent of those who would break the blockade – does someone really need to point out that Israel is a nuclear capable nation and Iran is pushing toward that goal (while Obama, America’s Nero – fiddles with his foreign policy)?

Israel’s enemies continue to push. They launch rockets, they threaten, they cajole and so far all Israel’s appeasement has done has been to embolden them. Israel’s patience is not infinite however and when push comes to shove they will strike back to save their lives.

This is the point we are going to reach sooner rather than later if the Iranian “aid ships” steam for Gaza. Israel will push back, there will be blood. The Muslim world will condemn. The UN will condemn out of one side of its mouth while calling for an “impartial investigation” out of the other. The new American administration will lower its eyes, kick as the dirt beneath its feet like a shamed child and remain silent.

At that point, abandoned by all her allies implicitly if not explicitly, what option does Israel have?

Surely Israel will launch an attack on Iran to prevent that theocratic totalitarian state from ever achieving nuclear status, and from that act of self-preservation the entire set of dominoes may fall.

This single event, this largely ignored calculated provocation of Israel by her sworn enemies has the possibility of being this millenniums "shot heard round the world"..

And so far all the world has done is scold the victim and praise the assassin.

Your UN Dollars Hard(ly) At Work

"United Nations - The United Nations Security Council tossed aside a letter by Honduras coup leaders in which they requested its intervention after alleged threats and provocation by Venezuela.
UN diplomats told Prensa Latina that the letter has not received any attention, and it will not be distributed as an official document.
That decision was made by Ugandan Ambassador Ruhakana Rugunda, who received the document Thursday as Security Council chairman."
*

Uganda? Really? You mean this Uganda, this Uganda? The Uganda led by this guy? The guy whose own Supreme court had this to say about the 23 February 2006 election...
"The Supreme Court of Uganda later ruled that the election was marred by intimidation, violence, voter disenfranchisement, and other irregularities."
Absolutely stellar... Anyone else wondering about the logic of foxes guarding hen houses?

Hey Religion, Go To Hell.

And take the UN with you...

You would think that of all the institutions on the planet where a piece of useless crap like this resolution would not pass it would be the UN.

I mean hell, these morons sit around and wring their hands when people are being hacked apart by machete's debating the meaning of the word genocide and seeing if the horrors being shown to the world on the BBC fit the bill... But ask them to pass a motion confirming the protected status of a bunch of peoples imaginary friends and they're falling all over themselves to confirm the unconformable and assign rights to the undefinable.

But wait it gets worse. Not only does this resolution open the door to censorship of non-religious views and free speech in general, they go farther, enshrining irrational beliefs as a human right and willfully abdicating and ignoring reality.

"In the resolution, the Commission expressed deep concern at negative stereotyping of religions and manifestations of intolerance in some regions of the world, and the frequent and wrong association of Islam with human rights violations and terrorism."

Really, my mistake... I must not have been watching closely enough and I missed the story about Catholic terrorists blowing up people in Pakistan, or the cowardly Buddhist suicide bombers responsible for 9/11, and the Hutterite militants that bombed the London subway.

Pardonnez Moi!!!

A couple of more days and I would have thought this to be a sick April Fools joke, but allas it isn't. The bigger issue here, bigger than freedom of speech, the "right" not to be offended, and even the existance of imaginary dieties, and the root of so many problems in our society today is the corruption of the concept of rights.

A right in order to be valid has one criteria.

1. It must be an individual right. It can not be collectivised. The reason is simple, no right properly called as such can impose through its existance a condition on another person. It can not make any positive demand, for to do so would mean that it conferrs upon one man by taking away from another. Thus there can be no religious, ethnic, social, cultural, sexual, national or tribal claim to a specific right.

This resolution smashes that ideal to pieces.

I for one will not comply. The next time someone stops me on the street to ask if I've "heard of the kingdom of heaven" Instead of being polite as I normally am, I'm going to tell him to go to hell. The next time some Jehova's Witness comes to my door instead of politely saying "no thaks I'm not interested" I'm going to tell him that I don't have time to discuss his irrational superstitions.

And just for good measure I hope this offends as many of you religious whack-jobs as possible.

SOTCA

Never mind human rights violations, torture, executions, mass murder, extremist jihadists or totalitarianism... That little old lady in Windsor Castle is the real concern.

Eliminating freedom and prosperity, one industry at a time.

Filed under "credible source"; Seriously, anyone paying attention to our casualty rate in Afghanistan or to the effectiveness of the Taliban resistance knows that this is the Taliban begging for their lives from the bottoms of their little rat caves. The Mujahideen these losers are not.

Google Couillard, now tell me we'd still be paying attention to this crap if she looked like this.

"Mr. Poilievre also suggested aboriginals need to work harder rather than receive more money." The first casualty of politics is truth.

And Canada's status as a totalitarian banana munching state without free speech, castrated by corrupt star chambers, fed by pompous petty bureaucrats who have never really fought for a right in their lives grows... Fire. Them. All.

Signs of the Collectivist Apocalypse (SOTCA)

It is obvious to anyone who reads Atlas Shrugged, that throughout it, the policies and programs undertaken by the ubiquitous Thompson government and the so called Peoples States, combined with the altruistic and nihilistic tendencies of anti-heroes like James Taggart and Wesley Mouch are leading to the final destruction of society. Indeed the book culminates in a collectivist apocalypse and the escape of the heroes and heroine to Galt’s Gulch.

Like the canary in the mineshaft I seek to warn you all that we may be looking at the same fate somewhere down the road.

So just to keep tabs on the situation I introduce a recurring theme to Uncommon Sense, a chirp here and there which I will call…

Signs of the Collectivist Apocalypse (SOTCA)

My first entry is about the US Treasury and a sweeping power grab by its new Head

The regulatory blueprint proposes eventually vesting new powers in the Federal Reserve as a "market stability regulator" -- effectively formalizing a role the central bank already has adopted recently by expanding the list of financial firms which can borrow directly.

It would give the Fed authority to demand that all financial system participants supply it with full information on their activities and grant the Fed a right to collaborate with other regulators in setting rules for their behavior.

Woosh!!! Super Finance Cop to the rescue!

Hold on a sec... Weren't these the same guys that were at least partially responsible for the sub-prime fiasco? Foxes in Hen houses anyone?

The great Cash and Cars Giveaway

Or How Dalton Made us all Pay

WINDSOR, Ont. - Ford of Canada will use a $17-million investment from the Ontario government as part of a $168-million plan to reopen the Essex engine plant in southwestern Ontario, but the company warned Monday it will not expand the project further without direct participation from the federal government.
Excellent Dalton McSquirmy throwing good money after bad, just to be threatened by the Ford company that it will all be for naught if they don't get more!!!

It's almost like he wants to be the Premier of a have not province...

UNballanced, UNfair, UNinformed, UNbelievable!

UN Watch

“All forms of racism, Zionism and foreign occupation and domination constitute an impediment to human dignity and a major barrier to the exercise of the fundamental rights of peoples; all such practices must be condemned and efforts must be deployed for their elimination.”
"Zionism is an international political movement that supports a homeland for the Jewish People in the Land of Israel."
Utilizing a "Human Rights Charter" to call for the extermination of a political movement, or to be clearer, to defy a human right?

Where have I seen that before?

Oh yeah.

You Cant Spell Unethical...

Without the UN

"Tretyakov, former deputy head of intelligence at Russia's U.N. mission from 1995 to 2000, names some names, but sticks mainly to code names. Among the spies he says he recruited for Russia were a Canadian nuclear weapons expert who became a U.N. nuclear verification expert in Vienna, a senior Russian official in the oil-for-food program and a former Soviet bloc ambassador. He describes a Russian businessman who got hold of a nuclear bomb, and kept it stored in a shed at his dacha outside Moscow."

"An 18-month investigation into the oil-for-food corruption, led by former
Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker, culminated in an October 2005 report
accusing more than 2,200 companies from some 40 countries of colluding with
Saddam's regime to bilk the humanitarian program in Iraq of $1.8 billion."

More Principaled Leadership...

[pedantic socialist]When will it end!!![/pedantic socialist]

I can just hear the socialists whining now, as the government says Canada is not interested in a (another) UN "Gong Show"

The UN: a gift (to murderers and terrorists) that keeps on giving.

I spent the seven most frustrating months of my military career in Bosnia under command of the United Nations.

Ceasefire violations by all the warring factions, and threats of violence against UN peacekeepers were a daily occurrence. Srebrenica was merely the bloody icing on a UN cake made of bureaucratic incompetence and unrealistic restrictions placed on soldiers.

At least two of my friends who were there in Bosnia were not the same when they came home, not because they were exposed to the stress of battle but because they were not permitted to do the job they were sent there to do.

When NATO with the US in the lead wrestled that failing mission from its inept UN handlers one would have thought that the UN would sort it’s house out.

But that was apparently too much to hope for. Waste and corruption, still reign in those hallowed halls.

You have to ask yourself how an organization who’s mission it is to protect refugees can allow the presence of any weapons within a refugee camp, much less the number of weapons required to launch a full scale attack on a national army?

The headlines today are empirical evidence that the United Nations should be permitted to administer nothing more complex than sixth grade class tours of their headquarters in New York.

Even then, parents would be advised to chaperon such events.
